Program Overview
Duration
June 16 – August 16, 2025
Schedule
Monday–Friday with a maximum of 20 hours per week
Most schedules are 3 Days/week. (typically Mon-wed)
Special flexible arrangements available for summer school students
Compensation
$12.48/hour with taxes and FICA deducted where applicable
Eligibility
Must have an IEP and an open case with MRS (Michigan Rehabilitation Services)

Mid-Summer Celebration & Field Trip
Join us at Riverside Marina in Detroit for a special mid-summer celebration! This exciting event will take place in July (exact date to be determined) and parents are welcome to attend. It's a great opportunity to connect with other program participants and celebrate summer achievements.
Showcase Presentations
At the end of the program, students will have the opportunity to highlight their work experience and skills gained through special showcase presentations. These events encourage community and employer engagement, allowing students to demonstrate their growth and accomplishments.
These special events enhance the internship experience by providing opportunities for celebration, reflection, and community building. They also allow students to practice presentation skills and share their achievements with family and potential employers.

Summer School Compatibility
Yes! We offer flexible scheduling to accommodate students attending summer school.
Transportation
Transportation is not guaranteed, but many worksites are accessible by bus. Talk to your MRS counselor about possible support.
Supervision
Yes. Every student is assigned a on-site coach and is regularly checked in on by Dreamtek staff.
18+ Opportunities
Students 18+ who complete the full summer successfully may qualify for free Driving School (Part 1), which could lead to job placement.
Worksite Selection
Students rank their top 3 interests. Placements are customized based on availability, interest, and counselor recommendation.
